Requirements management is the process of compiling, documenting, analyzing, prioritizing and agreeing to project requirements and then controlling change and communicating to relevant stakeholders. XD3 will assist and support its customers through this process by leveraging its three (3) step methodology to achieve project and customer success though:
In many cases, a customer has already established baseline requirements, but they are either not extensive enough, do not meet customer expectations and/or are extremely hindered by multiple stakeholders looking to achieve their own desired results versus the health of the organization. With XD3's experience on your side, you can assess and revaluate customer needs and reset project requirements for a successful deployment, by realigning initiatives and providing a sound baseline of requirements for all stakeholders, meeting user needs and budget expectations. If you project requirements are not underway and only in conceptual phase or about to be launched, XD3 will work with you or create a team to ensure that requirements are gathered from the users, the business and development stakeholders and define and deliver a requirements document that has been approved by all members of the team. This document will be what anchors the team to the original vision and permits a controlled discussion of scope change. Depending on the size and maturity of your organization, XD3's requirements team can support your requirements either independently through traditional tracking and document management or through software tools. XD3 is experienced in using many of these tools and can support your team in maintaining baseline requirements, version control, and change management for the duration of the engagement.
Once the baseline requirements document has been established, XD3 will work with project stakeholders to determine the feasibility of those requirements and/or recommend decisions on prioritization, "in or out", phases, to determine budgeting and/or coincide with and already existing budget plan. XD3 can deliver or support your team in budgeting and scheduling for the project.
Most organizations feel that requirements management ends once the baseline documentation has been delivered, however as design and development begin to take place, monitoring, change management and traceability of those requirements throughout the software delivery lifecycle or custom COTS configuration. XD3 can support and/or lead ongoing requirements management support for your organization and ensure effective and efficient deployments of your initiatives.
